What We Practice

Ten Shadows Martial Arts, or in Japanese,

Ju No Kage Ryu, focuses on three main areas:

  1. CIVILIAN SELF-DEFENSE: Unlike many martial arts developed by warriors or athletes, JnKR was developed by and for average people. Consequently, it is  based on the fact that an average person may not have the power, endurance or skill level of a professional.
     

  2. LIFELONG HEALTH AND FITNESS: Martial Arts practice has long been focused on developing and maintaining all-round physical fitness and health. The specific types of exercises, postures, breathing, stretches and movements have come down to us from Ancient Masters whose primary purpose was to retain as much vitality as possible throughout one's life. 

  3. MENTAL TOOLS FOR LIFE SUCCESS:  JnKR is first and foremost an art to develop the mind. We use very specific training methods with the intention to impart real-world, usable mental tools that enhance one's ability, not only to deal with the ups and downs of everyday life, but to achieve success and fulfillment in all one's endeavors.
